About our services

This clinic offers both sports rehabilitation and sports performance services.

Sports rehabilitation services are for individuals who are recovering from or rehabilitating from an injury or pain that is preventing them from participating in their sport or activity. Sports performance services are intended to help athletes improve their athletic and physical abilities.

Note: Sports rehabilitation services may be covered by your insurance and may require prior authorization. Sports performance services are not covered by insurance and require payment prior to service.

Overview

Our goals

Improper throwing mechanics have led to an increase in shoulder and elbow injuries for baseball and softball players.

Our goal is to help baseball and softball players who have pain while throwing or who are interested in mechanical improvements to reach their pitching or throwing goals.

Biomechanical video assessments are used in combination with a thorough musculoskeletal evaluation to address injury and performance issues.

The clinic is for throwers ages 8 through college level, and for recreational athletes beyond college.

Evaluations

Injured throwers evaluation

Pitchers should bring their own glove. The first appointment lasts approximately 60 minutes. This may be covered by your insurance and may require prior authorization.

Performance throwers evaluation

Our clinic can provide a biomechanical video performance evaluation designed for athletes who are not rehabilitating from injury but want to improve pitching mechanics. Improving mechanics is aimed at throwing with more accuracy and velocity while also focusing on injury prevention.

Cost: $199. This is not covered by insurance and requires payment prior to service.

Both evaluations include:

  1. History and throwing/training schedule review

  2. Physical examination (i.e., shoulder and hip mobility, rotator cuff strength, ligament and joint testing)

  3. Video analysis of pitching or throwing mechanics

  4. Implementation of a treatment program

  5. Guidelines for rehabilitation and throwing

  6. Teaching throwing correctional drills

  7. Interval throwing program (age- and position-specific)
