About

Claire Johnson, NP, is a UW Health behavioral health nurse practitioner.

Claire helps children and adolescents manage and cope with a wide range of conditions related to their health and well-being. These conditions include anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, psychosis and trauma-related issues.

When meeting with young patients, Claire makes a point to recognize their strengths while also discussing their challenges. She tries to create a comfortable, understanding space where patients can talk openly about their emotions while offering the opportunity to take breaks whenever needed.

Always believing in her patients’ potential, Claire works to figure out ways to help them improve and feel better. She commonly asks, “What would your life look like if you weren’t dealing with depression, anxiety (or whatever problem they face)?” Then, she sets care goals for her patients. When they improve and reach their goals, Claire shares in their happiness.

During her free time, Claire enjoys being outdoors, gardening, spending time with family and friends and walking her dog.

I help young people manage and overcome their behavioral health disorders so they can enjoy life and reach their fullest potential.
