Thankful: Time to Say Thanks, Embrace Family and Reflect
George Wilding, MD, is director of the UW Carbone Cancer Center. He reflects on the past year and the lessons learned.
It's that time of year again - the time to say thanks, embrace friends and family, and reflect on the year gone by. There is one thing that has captured my attention this year, as it resonates through every facet of the UW Carbone Cancer Center: teamwork.
Every day, I am impressed by the collaboration and devotion towards finding a cure for cancer; it is embraced by every staff member in the UW Carbone Cancer Center. You, your family, and your community are also invaluable members of our team. We are aware of the personal sacrifices and the community efforts you are making on behalf of the UW Carbone Cancer Center, and our gratitude is endless.
"Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision...It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results." - Andrew Carnegie
Without your support, we could not continue to make progress towards this elusive goal. We are thankful for your inspiration and hope this collaboration has only just begun, because together we can make a difference. Again, thank you for being a part of the UW Carbone Cancer Center team.
