Fetal diagnosis and treatment: Experts to help you and your baby

If your unborn baby is diagnosed with a birth defect, our team of experts work together to give you and your baby special attention to design a treatment plan created specifically for you and your baby.

Overview

Expert care to help ease your fears

At the UW Health Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment Center our specialists from multiple medical specialties are experts in caring for unborn babies with fetal conditions during pregnancy. Together we evaluate, diagnose and create a plan for your pregnancy, fetal intervention, delivery and care after birth.

At just one visit, you can be evaluated by a UW Health maternal-fetal medicine specialist, pediatric surgeon, neonatologist and other specialists pertinent to your baby’s condition. This saves you time, money and emotional stress related to travel and multiple appointments. Pregnant patients will also meet with a genetic counselor and social worker to provide support for each family. In addition, you can tour the NICU where your baby may require a stay. At the end of your visit, specialists will review the diagnosis, explain the condition, discuss options and answer your questions.
