Continuing Medical Education: Current Topics in General Surgery
The University of Wisconsin Department of Surgery will host the fifth annual "Current Topics in General Surgery" CME course April 4-5, 2014.
"Current Topics in General Surgery" is the premiere educational event in the region designed to educate general surgeons. This course will provide a comprehensive review and update of general surgery core competencies as outlined by the American Board of Surgery for re-certification, as well as instruction on new innovations in technology and medical care focused on improved outcomes for patients.

- Location: Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center, Madison
- Conference fee: Early bird conference fees are $350 for MD/DO and $200 for others until 12:59 PM CST February 3, 2014. Conference fees after February 3, 2014, are $375 for MD/DO and $225 for others.

The goal of this two-day educational activity is to examine the latest developments and current techniques in general surgery as they relate to a variety of featured topics, including endocrine surgery, surgical oncology, general surgery, plastics and trauma surgery, breast and minimally-invasive surgery, and practice measures and outcomes.
