Our Programs
The sports performance coaches, physical therapists and athletic trainers in UW Health Sports Medicine's Sports Performance program develop speed, strength and agility training programs for athletes of all ages and ability levels, with an emphasis on long-term athlete development.

Lower Extremity Injury Prevention (Ages 12-17)
This program is designed for individuals who are considered high risk for a lower extremity injury. This program will help athletes learn the proper technique for different movements that will enhance performance and prevent injury. These different movements include landing mechanics, change of direction, deceleration, neuromuscular control and stability.

Fundamental Speed Strength (Ages 9-11)
Fundamental Speed Strength is designed for 9-11 year olds, with the focus on learning and developing fundamental sport skills and refining fundamental movement skills.

Developmental Speed Strength (Ages 11-14)
Developmental speed strength introduces training concepts for sprinting, change-of-direction agility, motor coordination and developmentally-appropriate athletic strength training. Athletes will learn proper exercise and movement technique in preparation for training at the next level.

Youth Hockey Dryland (Session 1)
Developing on-ice performance begins with a foundation of off-ice athleticism. Our coaches follow USA Hockey's American Development Model in the design and implementation of the off-ice programs for hockey athletes of all ages. This program is designed to prepare peewee and bantam players for their season by improving speed, agility, coordination, strength, power and conditioning.

MAYSA Team Training (Ages 10-18)
UW Health Sports Performance and MAYSA have partnered to provide an opportunity for youth soccer players to offer a team training session specifically for young females. During this training session, teams will learn about soccer-specific sports performance and injury prevention training and participate in free play with small-sided games.

Girls Soccer Combine (Ages 12-18)
Sign up now for UW Health Sports Performance's third annual Girls Soccer Combine on Nov. 13. This is a fun and free session that assesses individuals' lower body power and stability, endurance, shooting accuracy and velocity, agility, speed, endurance and ball control.
