UW Health Sports Performance training programs help you become a better athlete and better runner. Use our preseason cross country training program to get ready for the season by working on running mechanics, strength training and power development to prevent injury and improve performance, and our offseason training to improve your speed, strength and agility.

Preseason Track for Sprinters

 

UW Health Sports Performance is partnering with Bill Euler, an IAAF Level 3 coach, to bring you the most comprehensive speed training and performance program available to prepare you for your fastest season yet.

This class introduces athletes 12 to 14 years old to training concepts for sprinting, change-of-direction agility, motor coordination and developmentally appropriate, athletic strength training.

Our running training program can help runners interested in improving their running performance, running economy or running mechanics can be evaluated by our expert athletic trainers and performance coaches.

Runners Performance 2-D Training

 

Our Sports Performance staff uses two-dimensional video analysis and detailed breakdown of your running mechanics to improve your efficiency, reduce energy cost and prevent injuries. Training includes:

  • Training log review
  • Musculoskeletal screening
  • 2-D running video analysis
  • Running retraining exercises
  • Footwear prescription

Runners Performance 3-D Training

 

Our three-dimensional computerized analysis provides assessment of your running mechanics, including precise joint motions and forces. High-speed cameras record the runner on an instrumented treadmill that measures ground contact forces.
