Vincent Minichiello, MD

About

Vincent  Minichiello, MD, is an integrative family medicine doctor at UW Health and an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. He cares for patients of all ages and treats a wide range of acute and chronic conditions such as heart, lung and kidney issues, diabetes, chronic pain, anxiety and depression. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, he proudly serves the Asian community.

Dr. Minichiello’s special interests include integrative medicine, medication-assisted therapy to treat chronic pain and addiction withdrawal symptoms, and caring for people with disabilities.

Using an integrative medicine approach to treat the whole person — body, mind and spirit — Dr. Minichiello draws on a combination of tools to help each person heal, including traditional medicine, scientific research, acupuncture, meditation and botanical medicine.

Dr. Minichiello’s research focuses on how a mindfulness meditation practice may support both resident physicians and their patients.

During free time, Dr. Minichiello enjoys practicing Chen-style Tai Chi and training for sprint-distance triathlons.

I see my role not as someone who "fixes" disease, but rather as someone who partners with patients and co-creates health plans.
