About

Victoria Williams, PhD, is a UW Health neuropsychologist and an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Victoria treats brain and memory disorders associated with aging such as Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia and dementia with Lewy bodies (abnormal protein deposits in the brain).

Victoria is part of a team that includes a gerontologist, social worker and other specialists. Their patient-centered approach addresses all aspects of an older person’s health and care needs.

Victoria diagnoses memory disorders, brain-behavior relationships and brain-region functions. She provides cognitive testing and assesses healthcare decision-making abilities. Victoria helps patients understand their condition and offers strategies to help them manage daily challenges and stay as independent as possible.

Victoria is currently researching aging and neurodegenerative disease, including how certain health and social influences impact the risk of developing dementia over time.

In her spare time, Victoria enjoys being a mother to her two daughters, exploring Wisconsin lakes and rivers by kayak, camping with family and friends and working on art projects.

We’re making phenomenal strides as we work toward a cure for Alzheimer’s and dementia. It’s really encouraging and speaks to the volumes of research being conducted.
