Steven Cattapan, MD

About

Steven Cattapan, MD, is a UW Health pulmonary and critical care medicine doctor who treats patients with lung disease, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and lung cancer. He specializes in sleep medicine focusing on disorders that cause changes in breathing patterns during sleep. Dr. Cattapan also is a clinical professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

It’s very important to Dr. Cattapan that he understands a medical concern from a patient’s perspective. He listens as his patients identify their health issues and works with them to develop treatment plans that support their needs. By keeping the patient’s goals and values in mind, he finds it easier to provide patient-centered care.

In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Cattapan is involved in training the next generation of physicians.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Cattapan enjoys golfing and running.

I want each patient to feel like they understand their diagnosis and to be comfortable with how we're approaching it.
