About

Shelly Weisheipl, CNM, is a UW Health certified nurse midwife. Shelly provides high-risk pregnancy care for women who experience serious medical issues or emergencies affecting themselves or their unborn babies. These issues may include an illness or injury, preterm labor, bleeding, decreased fetal movement or other health problems that arise during high-risk pregnancies.

When pregnant women experiencing medical issues arrive at the hospital, Shelly talks with them about their symptoms. She believes that listening to patients is the key to successful care. She addresses their concerns and offers information and support.

Shelly enjoys teaching women what to expect during pregnancy, how their bodies will change and how their babies will grow. Ultimately, her goal is to give patients the best possible care and help them deliver a healthy baby.

During her free time, Shelly enjoys cooking, especially Italian cuisine.

When women come in, they’re very worried about their health or their baby’s health. My job is to support them, care for them and, hopefully, relieve their worries.
