Dr. Shannon Patterson earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Lehigh University.  She completed an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited internship and fellowship within the VA Health Care System where she received specialized training in eating disorder treatment, health psychology, and primary care mental health interventions. Dr. Patterson specializes in the assessment and treatment of eating disorders, caregiver and patient adjustment to chronic illness, and the provision of weight-inclusive services within health care settings. Dr. Patterson holds a national provider certification of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD and is listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. She is a member of the Academy of Eating Disorders, Association for Size Diversity and Health, and APA Division 38: Health Psychology. Dr. Patterson’s approach to psychotherapy incorporates evidence-based interventions which primarily include Cognitive-Behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing.
