About

Sarah Tracy, MD, is a UW Health Kids pediatric surgeon. She’s also an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Tracy cares for babies, children and teenagers with various health conditions. She has a clinical interest in surgical oncology (cancer surgery). She specializes in treating chest and abdominal (belly) cancers and soft tissue tumors. Dr. Tracy also treats babies born with different anatomy (body structure), common infections, unusual growths or hernias.

When possible, Dr. Tracy uses minimally invasive surgery techniques, including robotic surgery, to speed up recovery times. She also helps patients who have experienced physical trauma recover from injuries.

Before becoming a doctor, Dr. Tracy was a sports coach and dance instructor. She discovered her passion for working with children and their families. Dr. Tracy takes the time to understand each patient’s needs. She partners with children and their loved ones to choose the best care plan for their health goals.

Dr. Tracy also conducts cancer research and studies video-based learning for surgeons in training.

Outside of work, Dr. Tracy enjoys playing field hockey on a local club team and outdoor adventures with her family.

I am grateful to be able to care for the smallest members of our community and their loved ones.
