About

Ryan Spencer, MD, FACOG is a UW Health gynecologic oncologist. He’s also an associate professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Spencer cares for women of all ages with cancer of the reproductive organs — the uterus, cervix, vagina, vulva and ovaries. He creates innovative treatment plans to target each patient’s needs. He performs advanced surgery using minimally invasive techniques and provides the latest chemotherapy and other treatments.

When meeting with patients, Dr. Spencer encourages open, honest conversation. He explains their diagnosis and treatment options and listens closely to their thoughts and concerns. Dr. Spencer also invites patients to bring close friends or family members to office visits if they choose. He assures patients that he and his team will support them throughout their journey.

In addition to patient care, Dr. Spencer researches techniques to improve patients’ quality of life during and after cancer treatment. He also studies ways to improve funding for gynecologic cancer treatment and clinical trials.

During his free time, Dr. Spencer enjoys spending time with family, biking and genealogy research.

My goal is to help patients recover from cancer. We help them feel as comfortable as possible every step of the way.
