Randy Heidel, MD

About

Randy Heidel, MD, is a UW Health internal medicine doctor and associate clinical professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine within the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Heidel diagnoses and treats the full spectrum of health conditions in adult patients, from acute (sudden) illnesses and injuries to chronic medical conditions. He has a special clinical interest in helping patients manage long-term conditions such as diabetes and hypertension (high blood pressure).

Dr. Heidel’s philosophy toward patient care is rooted in shared decision making. He believes it’s important to first listen and digest the information his patients share and then make a decision with them on how to proceed with their care.

In his free time, Dr. Heidel enjoys spending time outdoors.

The most rewarding part of my job is when a patient or family member comes back to tell me about a positive outcome that occurred because of their care.
