About

Patrick Pfau, MD, is a UW Health gastroenterologist who treats patients with disorders of the digestive system, including the pancreas and bile duct. He specializes in advanced interventional endoscopy (surgical endoscopy), using specialized technology and equipment to manage complex disorders in digestive system organs.

Dr. Pfau is also a professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

When meeting a patient for the first time, Dr. Pfau listens compassionately and carefully to understand the person’s symptoms and concerns. He addresses their questions and ensures they understand their diagnosis and treatment plan. For Dr. Pfau, the most rewarding part of his job is caring for a patient who has a difficult diagnosis and being able to see them through a successful course of treatment.

In his free time, Dr. Pfau enjoys visiting his adult children.

My hope for my patients is that I can solve their problems, improve their overall health and get them back to where they want to be.
