About

Patrick Peebles, MD, is a UW Health Kids neonatologist and an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatology and Newborn Nursery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Peebles cares for premature (born early) babies and newborns who have a wide range of complex health conditions. These include breathing disorders, infections, birth defects, injuries and other critical illnesses. He regularly cares for infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and has a special clinical interest in providing resuscitation and breathing support during delivery.

To help parents cope with their fears and make informed decisions, Dr. Peebles takes time to carefully explain their baby’s medical condition. He listens to their concerns and answers questions clearly and honestly. He also explains what treatments are available to help their baby and what they can expect in the future.

In addition to his clinical and teaching roles, Dr. Peebles researches safe methods for performing neonatal intubation (using artificial tubes to help restore a baby’s breathing).

Away from the hospital, Dr. Peebles enjoys downhill skiing, bicycling and other outdoor activities.

Our goal is to help each tiny baby survive and flourish. We work to deliver the most effective treatments possible.
