About

Nicholas Haun, MD, is a UW Health internal medicine doctor and associate clinical professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Haun provides care for hospitalized patients over the age of 18 with a wide range of medical conditions.

Some common conditions include pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart failure, sepsis, asthma, cellulitis (bacterial skin infection) and delirium.

Dr. Haun believes that caring for people in the hospital is a privilege and he approaches each patient with compassion. He takes the time to be present with them and learn about them, so he can alleviate their suffering.

With that same compassionate approach, Dr. Haun also works outside of the hospital as part of a street medicine team, providing medical care to people experiencing homelessness in the Madison area.

I strive to uphold the dignity and worth of every person I get to care for — regardless of their background or ability.
