Nataliya Uboha, MD, is a UW Health medical oncologist (cancer doctor). She’s also an associate professor and researcher at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in the Department of Medicine. Dr. Uboha treats patients with gastrointestinal (GI) cancers involving the esophagus, stomach, intestines, pancreas and other digestive organs. (The esophagus is the tube that moves food from the mouth to the stomach.) Her clinical specialty and research focus is treating upper GI cancer that arises from the esophagus and stomach. With compassion and expertise, Dr. Uboha talks with each patient about their cancer diagnosis and outlines treatment options. She recognizes that many people feel helpless after hearing they have cancer. For this reason, she invites questions, keeps patients updated about their test results, and offers information about the latest clinical trials. Dr. Uboha works to help patients regain a sense of control in their lives as they fight cancer. To improve care, Dr. Uboha leads cutting-edge research trials to investigate the effectiveness of new treatments and give patients even more options. During her free time, Dr. Uboha enjoys spending time with family, traveling, camping, scuba diving, snowboarding, gardening and cooking. It’s a privilege to care for my patients with cancer. Inspired by their strength, I do everything I can to help them get better.
