About

Monica Patel, MD, is a medical oncologist at UW Health. Dr. Patel provides treatment for gastrointestinal (GI) cancers, which include cancers of the pancreas, liver, bile duct, gallbladder, large and small intestine, stomach, esophagus and neuroendocrine tumors.

Dr. Patel supports her patients throughout cancer diagnosis, treatment and beyond. She works to be honest and supportive throughout every stage of the process.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Patel is an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health where she studies health disparities in clinical trial enrollment for women, minorities and older populations.

Outside of work, Dr. Patel enjoys running, practicing yoga, being outdoors and spending time with her husband and their two children.

While oncology can be difficult, I think it is incredibly rewarding to see and talk with patients and support them through their course of treatment.
