Molly Day, MD, is a UW Health sports medicine surgeon. She’s also an assistant professor the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Day treats patients with orthopedic (bone, muscle and joint) conditions. These problems range from arthritis and rotator cuff tears to conditions that cause knee and shoulder instability. She enjoys caring for unique needs of specific populations of athletes, including adolescent, female and masters athletes.

As a team physician for UW Badger Athletics, Dr. Day excels at treating athletic and sports-related injuries. She specializes in minimally invasive surgery, including arthroscopy — a technique that uses a small camera to inspect and treat joint problems. Her clinical interests include knee, shoulder and ACL reconstructive surgeries.

Whether they’re weekend warriors or elite athletes, Dr. Day ensures that each patient receives the highest level of care. Using a team-based approach, she works with people to manage their injuries and help them achieve their goals.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Day conducts research on joint injuries, surgical outcomes and improving care for female athletes.

When she’s not with patients, Dr. Day enjoys hanging out with her family. She likes to paint and spend time outdoors hiking, hunting and fishing.

I strive to provide comprehensive patient-centered care. My goal is to help people eliminate pain, optimize function and maintain a healthy, active lifestyle.
