About

Melissa Burckardt, OT, is an occupational therapist and certified hand therapist at UW Health. She evaluates and treats chronic, acute, overuse and post-surgical upper extremity (UE) injuries.

Melissa’s clinical interest is working in the Brachial Plexus Clinic to help patients with nerve injuries and nerve compressions in the arm.

To support her care philosophy, Melissa collaborates with plastic and orthopedic surgeons to achieve the best outcomes for her patients. In addition, she enjoys advocating for her patients and believes in a holistic approach to treatment that cares for the whole person.

I was inspired to become an occupational therapist when I saw one for wrist pain. She was very sympathetic to not just my wrist pain, but to my whole health. She treated me holistically, and I try to do the same in my practice.
