Megan Mirkes, MD

About

Megan Mirkes, MD, is a UW Health internal medicine doctor and an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Mirkes treats a variety of conditions from common colds and sports injuries to women’s health. She also provides chronic disease management for patients with diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity and mental health concerns. It’s important for Dr. Mirkes to establish trust with her patients. Her care philosophy is that medicine is a team effort and having that trust between the patient and the doctor results in better care and a better relationship. She prefers to involve the patient as much as possible in decisions about care and treatment plans.

For Dr. Mirkes, the most rewarding part of her day is meeting new people. She enjoys seeing her patients and catching up on their lives in addition to providing great care. She listens carefully to her patients and doesn’t rush them through an appointment.

In her free time, Dr. Mirkes enjoys playing soccer and golf.

My hope for each patient is that they feel comfortable with me and they’re satisfied with the care they received.
