About

Maura Grasshoff, LCSW, is a mental health clinician at UW Health. She is a licensed clinical social worker with additional training in substance abuse.

Maura treats adults with a wide range of conditions, including depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), personality disorders and persistent mental illnesses such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. She also welcomes and provides a safe environment for LGBTQ+ individuals.

Maura offers Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for the treatment of trauma and was trained by the EMDR Institute, Inc. She is skilled in providing other evidence-based treatment such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), behavioral activation, motivational interviewing, mindfulness and solution-focused therapy.

Believing that people do the best they can with the skills they have, Maura works to teach new skills and positive coping methods. She loves to help patients overcome challenges and live their most fulfilling lives.

I want to empower my patients to solve problems and eventually feel confident enough in themselves that they will no longer need therapy.
