About

M. Alison Brooks, MD, MPH, is a UW Health sports medicine doctor. She’s also a professor in the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Brooks cares for school-aged athletes, including those who compete at the middle school, high school and collegiate level. She also provides care for athletes and active individuals of all ages.

Dr. Brooks is highly involved with University of Wisconsin athletics, and she serves as the primary team physician for the Badger men’s soccer and women’s ice hockey teams. She’s also the Associate Director of Concussion and Nutrition Research for the Badger Athletic Performance Program.

Her current research focuses on concussions in athletes. She’s also involved in research that seeks to improve early youth sports to be an even better, more positive and fun activity for kids.

Outside of work, Dr. Brooks loves cycling, kayaking, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and other activities with her family.

I want to try to understand each patient’s goals, make a personal connection with them and try to help them meet their goals.
