Lisa Thomas Prince, Program Manager of the UW Health Mindfulness Program has been teaching with the program since 2014. Lisa has been studying, practicing and integrating mindfulness meditation into her life for nearly 25 years. She has been influenced by long-time study of yoga, martial arts and qigong, and she is a 200hr certified yoga teacher. Lisa’s early career paths focused in international public health and world language instruction, including 12 years as a language educator in grades preK-8. Since joining the Mindfulness Program, Lisa's activities include curriculum development for the UW Health Mindfulness for Middle Schoolers course, mindfulness training for educators and staff in local school districts, MBSR instruction, and establishment of the Mindfulness-based Childbirth and Parenting (MBCP) program in Madison. Her professional trainings include the Inner Kids professional training program with Susan Kaiser Greenland, the UCSD MBSR Teacher Training Intensive, and MBCP professional teacher training Levels I & II. Lisa is particularly energized in working with expectant parents, parents, children, caregivers and families to support mindful awareness and compassion across generations.
