Kevin M. McKown, MD


Kevin M. McKown, MD joined the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health faculty in 2000. He received his medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine, where he also did his internship. After serving four years in the United States Navy as a primary care medical officer, Dr. McKown completed his internal medicine and rheumatology training at the University of Tennessee. Dr. McKown joined the faculty of the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 1992.

Dr. McKown has been actively involved in medical education throughout his career. He is currently co-director of the UW internal medicine clerkship and program director of the UW rheumatology fellowship. Dr. McKown's areas of clinical interest include rheumatic manifestations of viral infections, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and scleroderma.

Dr. McKown's current research interests are clinical aspects of scleroderma and stem cell transplantation therapy for autoimmune rheumatic disorders.
