About

Katherine McCreary, MD, is a UW Health family medicine doctor and a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. McCreary treats a full spectrum of conditions in patients of all ages, ranging from newborns to older adults. She diagnoses and treats acute injuries and sudden illness as well as chronic (long term) conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and arthritis.

Dr. McCreary cares for patients through every stage of life. She performs well child visits, preventive care screenings and office-based procedures such as skin biopsies and the insertion or removal of contraceptive devices such as IUDs. She also provides gender-affirming health care and prescribes gender-affirming hormone therapy.

Dr. McCreary enjoys building lifelong relationships with her patients and their families. She strives to understand their priorities, values and goals and works with them to determine their unique treatment plans.

In her free time, Dr. McCreary enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors, hiking, camping and downhill skiing. She also enjoys reading, knitting and practicing yoga.

It’s rewarding to see patients get better over time. My hope is that my patients find themselves in a state of health that allows them to do the things they want to do.
