Katie Hoard, NP, is a nurse practitioner at UW Health. She provides individualized care to patients with a broad range of conditions, including asthma, seasonal allergies, rashes, hives, chronic cough and chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (nasal and sinus irritation and inflammation with accompanying non-cancerous growths in the nasal passages). Katie performs allergy skin testing for allergens (from trees, grass, weeds, molds, cats, dogs and dust mites) and works with patients to develop an individualized plan of care. After testing for allergies and developing a plan of care, she works in collaboration with adult allergy physicians who may write orders for starting allergy immunotherapy. Additionally, Katie orders and interprets spirometry, which measures lung function, to help diagnose and manage asthma. Outside of work, Katie enjoys painting and other art activities as well as spending time with her family. The most rewarding part of my job is helping people feel better and get back to their normal, healthy baseline.
