Justin Levinson, MD, MBA, is a UW Health rheumatologist. He's also an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Levinson diagnoses and treats autoimmune diseases and disorders of the muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones and joints. Some of the conditions he treats include systemic lupus erythematosus (lupus), rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, polymyalgia rheumatica, myositis, sarcoidosis, vasculitis and connective tissue disease associated with interstitial lung disease (CTD-ILD).

With board certifications in geriatric medicine, internal medicine and rheumatology, Dr. Levinson has a special interest in geriatric rheumatology. In 2023, he helped establish the UW Health Geri-Rheumatology Clinic. Here, he integrates geriatric principles into the rheumatologic care of older patients.

Dr. Levinson builds strong partnerships with his patients. He strives to empower them to participate in their care decisions by educating them about their health conditions and treatment options.

In addition to his clinical work and teaching, Dr. Levinson is a member of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Corporate Relations committee and the American Geriatrics Society (AGS) Clinical Practice and Models of Care committee. He also serves as a peer reviewer for the Rheumatology Research Foundation.

Dr. Levinson’s research focuses on geriatric rheumatology, cognitive impairment/dementia in rheumatology patients and medical education initiatives.
