Dr Xu is an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. As a pathologist, Dr. Xu provides diagnostic expertise in breast and gynecological disease.
She earned her medical degree in China. She completed residency and general surgical pathology fellowship training in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She also completed another year of subspecialty fellowship training in breast pathology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, NY. She is certified by the American Board of Pathology (ABP).

Research and publications
Dr. Xu’s research focuses primarily on the interaction between the signaling mechanisms of the hormone receptors ER/PR and the signaling mechanisms of Her2 in breast cancer. She aims to advance the understanding of acquired resistance to endocrine therapy and Her2 target therapy, and subsequently develop novel biomarkers to advance patient therapeutics.
