About

Jeffrey Olech, MD, is a UW Health anesthesiologist and assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in the Department of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Olech delivers anesthesia (pain medicine) and carefully monitors his patients’ well-being before, during and after surgery.

With a special interest in cardiac anesthesiology, Dr. Olech offers expert pain control and comfort for people having surgery for a wide range of heart conditions. These conditions include coronary artery disease (plaque buildup in the arteries that reduces blood flow), aortic stenosis (a narrowing of the aortic valve that restricts blood flow), atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat) and mitral regurgitation (a leaking heart valve).

Dr. Olech’s other clinical interest is caring for patients who need a diagnostic procedure that passes a special device through the throat and into the esophagus (transesophageal echocardiography). With the device located inside the chest cavity, it produces clear pictures of the patient’s heart.

During every procedure, Dr. Olech’s top priority is keeping his patients safe.

I work to keep patients safe and comfortable on what’s often the most important day of their lives.
