About

James Blackmer is a certified pedorthist for the Orthotics and Prosthetics Clinic at UW Health. He specializes in evaluating, fitting and modifying custom foot orthotics, partial foot prosthetics, orthopedic footwear and shoe modifications for patients of all ages. With over 15 years in his field, James provides experienced care for all foot and ankle alignment issues for amputees, people with diabetes who have foot complications, athletes suffering from pain or injury and patients with post-surgical foot reconstructions.

His passion for medicine stems from his desire to help people maintain or improve their quality of life. James understands that we often take our foot and ankle health for granted, even though many issues can make basic activities harder. He approaches care with kindness, direct communication and honesty.

In his free time, James loves exploring Wisconsin’s woods, hiking, camping and cheering on his favorite team – the Packers.
