Isatou (Aisha) Marong, PA, is a UW Health physician assistant who specializes in endocrinology. She sees people with disorders of the endocrine system. These glands control hormones and regulate important body functions.
Aisha treats patients with Type 1 diabetes and Type 2 diabetes. She cares for people with osteoporosis (weak, brittle bones). Aisha also sees patients with hypothyroidism (an underactive thyroid gland that does not make enough hormones) and hyperthyroidism (an overactive thyroid that produces too many hormones). Hormone problems can affect a person’s breathing, heart rate, digestion, weight, mood and other body functions.
To help patients manage their endocrine disorders, Aisha often recommends a particular diet, proper nutrition, exercise or medication.
Aisha holds master’s degrees in public health and physician assistant studies.
During her free time, Aisha enjoys cooking, exercising and traveling with family.
I entered the medical profession to help others. When meeting with patients, I follow the golden rule: Treat others the way I want to be treated (with dignity and respect).
