Dr. Inga Hofmann is an assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She is Director of our Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant program and the Medical Director for the UW Program for Advanced Cellular Therapy. Dr. Hofmann earned her medical degree from Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg, Germany and completed her internship and residency at UCSF Medical Center, San Francisco, CA. Dr. Hofmann completed pediatric hematology/oncology fellowships at Boston Children’s Hospital, Boston, MA and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA, where she also completed a fellowship in hematopathology.
Dr. Hofmann has national and international expertise in myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) and bone marrow failure (BMF) in children and leads our pediatric MDS, MPN and BMF Program. the Program collaborates closely with the adult BMF program to develop a comprehensive cross departmental program for precision medicine focused on genetic predisposition to marrow failure, blood malignancies and cancer.
She is also the founder of the Global Pediatric MDS Initiative, Inc, a nonprofit devoted to research, eduction and support of families affected by pediatric MDS.
