Gregory Cooley, MD

Gregory Cooley, MD, is a UW Health radiation oncologist and a clinical associate professor in the Department of Human Oncology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He uses radiation technology to treat patients with all types of cancer. He also uses radiation to treat some benign (noncancerous) conditions that cause an overgrowth of cells in the body.

Within the field of cancer treatment, Dr. Cooley understands the combination of competency, concern and compassion that patients need from their cancer specialist. He strives to bring a personal touch to medicine and meet his patients’ physical and emotional needs with personalized care.

When meeting a patient, Dr. Cooley listens carefully and answers all their questions. He works hard to build a friendship with his patients based on trust that lasts throughout their cancer journey.

In addition to seeing patients in the clinic and teaching medical students, Dr. Cooley researches ways to improve cancer treatment outcomes.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Cooley enjoys reading on topics including philosophy, theology and history, spending time outdoors including boating and travel, gardening, wine making and time with family.
