About

Gina Utrie, MD, is a UW Health internal medicine doctor and also is a clinical associate professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She provides comprehensive primary care for adults 18 years of age or older.

Dr. Utrie provides preventive care such as health screenings and treats acute (occurring suddenly) illnesses such as colds, flu and infections when they occur. She helps patients which chronic health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension (high blood pressure), high cholesterol, heart disease, lung disease, arthritis and many other chronic conditions.

Dr. Utrie enjoys taking care of a broad range of patients with interesting and complex health conditions and getting to know them on a personal level throughout their life. She asks questions to understand her patients’ needs and personalizes care to meet their goals.

Dr. Utrie sees the provider-patient relationship as a team effort. She believes her job is to give her patients the information they need to make informed decisions about their health care.

In her free time, Dr. Utrie enjoys reading and cheering on her teenage son during his sporting events, especially baseball.

The most rewarding part of my job is getting to know my patients over time.
