Gerald J. Lang, MD

About

Gerald Lang, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at UW Health and professor in the Department of Orthopedics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He cares for patients with bone fractures and severe muscle, joint and tissue trauma. Dr. Lang specializes in treating patients who have suffered multiple complex traumatic injuries to their arms, legs or other parts of the body.

As a trauma surgeon, Dr. Lang often sees people after they’ve experienced a tragic event, such as a bad fall or a car crash. They require expert, multispecialty evaluation and emergency interventions, including surgery.

Dr. Lang enjoys spending his free time with his wife and children. He also stays active in the Madison community and enjoys officiating high school football games.

When I meet people, they have significant care needs, and many are scared or worried. It’s a privilege to be here to listen to their concerns and meet their needs so they can begin to heal. We help them achieve new goals and get back to their everyday lives.
