Floreta Shapiro, DO, is a UW Health geriatrician and an assistant clinical professor in the Division of Geriatrics and Gerontology within the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Shapiro specializes in the care of older adults in the hospital setting.

Dr. Shapiro treats a wide range of geriatric issues, including confusion, delirium, dementia, mood disorder, general frailty, weakness and fall injuries. She also offers support and guidance for caregivers and family members.

Through compassionate patient care, Dr. Shapiro helps patients manage their conditions and maintain their independence as long as possible. Her goal for all patients is for them to be able to live their lives to the fullest for as long as possible.

In her free time, Dr. Shapiro enjoys chamber and orchestra music, as well as rock and jazz. She has a passion for music and is a classically trained cellist.
