About

Erin Lowery, MD, MS, is a UW Health pulmonary and critical care medicine doctor (lung doctor). Dr. Lowery serves as medical director of the Lung Transplant Program and is the associate medical director of the Cystic Fibrosis Program at UW Health. She is also an associate professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Allergy, Pulmonary and Critical Care at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Lowery treats both adults and children with advanced lung disease. She cares for lung transplant patients both before and after surgery. She also cares for patients with cystic fibrosis and other lung disorders.

Committed to helping patients make informed health care decisions, Dr. Lowery educates them about the entire treatment process and what life will be like after treatment. She strives to consider all aspects of her patients’ lives when guiding them through care.

Dr. Lowery’s clinical research focuses on outcomes in cystic fibrosis and lung transplant. She also studies the consequences of alcohol and substance use in patients with lung disease. She serves as principal investigator on a National Institutes of Health-funded project that involves multiple lung transplant centers working together to conduct lung transplant research.

Outside of work, Dr. Lowery enjoys spending time with her children and playing violin.

I remain focused on my patients’ overall well-being throughout treatment.
