About

Elizabeth Chapman, MD, is a doctor of geriatrics at UW Health and a clinical associate professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatrics and Gerontology. As a geriatrician, she cares for hospitalized older adults who are experiencing age-related challenges during their stay.

Dr. Chapman treats patients experiencing delirium, dementia, depression and falls. Her primary clinical interest is to make hospital care for elderly patients more person-centered and sensitive to common issues like memory impairment and hearing loss.

Dr. Chapman’s care philosophy is to understand who her patients are outside the hospital in order to deliver the best possible care. She also believes that combining the strength and expertise of multiple teams at UW Health helps them achieve the common goal of delivering high-quality care for older adults in the hospital and as they transition back to the community.

As a geriatrician, I get to advocate for older adults in the hospital and help create a system that is more sensitive to their needs.
