About

Doug Grovergrys, PT, is a UW Health physical therapist. He specializes in sports medicine and rehabilitation for athletes of all ages and skill levels. Doug treats conditions ranging from ankle sprains, hip pain and tendinitis (inflammation) to complex rotator cuff (shoulder) and knee ligament injuries.

Doug treats injuries related to a wide variety of sports, including ultimate frisbee, basketball, soccer and other field sports. He helps individuals improve body form, movement and mechanics through exercise and physical therapies. He also offers mental training that can help enhance focus, performance and safety. Doug helps patients manage their conditions, prevent injuries and safely return to play.

In addition to patient care, Doug enjoys his role as a clinical education coordinator. He works with students in the sports physical therapy residency program at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

In his free time, Doug enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, tennis, basketball and other sports. He also enjoys traveling with family and friends and learning about different cultures.

As a child, I loved playing sports, but if someone got hurt, they had to stop playing. I’m still motivated to prevent injuries and help people get back in the game.
