About

Christopher Saddler, MD, is a UW Health infectious disease doctor and an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Saddler has special expertise in transplant infections and immune-compromising conditions.

Dr. Saddler helps doctors diagnose and treat infectious diseases, including complex conditions. He treats varied disorders ranging from fungal infections and infectious diarrhea to non-tuberculosis bacterial infections and rare viral diseases. His clinical interest focuses on treating people with immune system problems that increase their risk for infections. These include organ transplant recipients, people with cancer and those who have had bone marrow transplants or chemotherapy.

Dr. Saddler is a teacher and problem-solver at heart. After easing patients’ fears, he educates them about their condition and helps them understand their treatment options. He takes a patient-centered approach to care, individualizing treatment to meet each patient’s medical needs and personal values.

Dr. Saddler also conducts research to advance the prevention, treatment and management of infectious disease. He leads clinical trials and other studies, including studies focused on infections that present a higher risk to transplant patients.

In his free time, Dr. Saddler enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and staying active.

It's rewarding to care for patients and know you made a real difference. Seeing people get better — sometimes much better — is amazing.
