About

Cate Cavanagh, PA, is a UW Health physician assistant.

Cate specializes in caring for individuals with benign breast diseases, as well as patients with post-operative concerns. She also works with patients who are at an increased risk of breast cancer due to family or personal history in the PATHS (Prevention, Assessment and Tailored Health Screening) Clinic.

At the PATHS clinic, she discusses screening and risk-reduction strategies. She also formulates patient-centered care plans, works closely with the Oncology Genetics Department and offers multidisciplinary visits for new patients.

Cate is passionate about working with high-risk individuals to help reduce their risk of developing breast cancer. She provides them with options for breast cancer screening and risk reduction to help them stay healthy for years to come. Cate also helps to recruit participants for research studies that focus on improving patient care and making advancements in medical technology.

Outside of work, Cate enjoys gardening, paddleboarding, kayaking, playing volleyball and going to concerts.

My hope for each one of my patients is that they leave our visit feeling like they were heard and listened to, and like they have a good plan moving forward in their care.
