About

Brian E. Walczak, DO, PhD, Assistant Professor, is fellowship trained in sports medicine and musculoskeletal oncology, and specializes in advanced procedures in joint reconstruction, hip preservation, knee and shoulder arthroscopy, and cartilage restoration. He is a graduate of Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed residency training with McLaren-Macomb in Detroit, MI, completed a fellowship in orthopedic oncology with advanced reconstruction at the Mayo Clinic, and a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is the head team physician for UW Badger Men’s Hockey and associate team physician for UW Badger Football and Wrestling.

Dr. Walczak is an active laboratory researcher investigating treatments for osteoarthritis, and optimizing stem cells for use in tissue regeneration.
