Bethany Anderson, MD

About

Bethany Anderson, MD, is a UW Health radiation oncologist who treats patients with breast cancer and gynecologic cancers. She also is an associate professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in the Department of Human Oncology.

Dr. Anderson provides state-of-the-art radiation therapy — high-energy X-rays, electrons and protons — to target the cancer precisely while protecting healthy tissue nearby.

Understanding that a cancer diagnosis is frightening, Dr. Anderson takes time to listen to each patient’s fears and answer questions. She asks about the patient’s goals and outlines treatment options. Together, they create a care plan designed to fight the patient’s unique cancer.

To help improve cancer treatment, Dr. Anderson also participates in both large and small cancer studies. One study looks at a special type of MRI-guided radiation for early-stage breast cancer.

During her free time, Dr. Anderson enjoys competing in triathlons (swimming, cycling and running), spending time with family and reading.

I help my patients fight their cancer and regain a sense of control over what can be a scary time in their lives.
