About

Aurangzeb Baber, MD, FACC, is a UW Health advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist. He is also a clinical associate professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine within the Department of Medicine.

Dr. Baber cares for people with advanced heart failure, which happens when the heart can’t pump enough blood and oxygen to support other organs in the body. He also treats people with significant coronary artery disease, arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat) and a wide range of other complex heart conditions. Many of his patients have heart transplants or mechanical heart pumps. Dr. Baber works to improve their heart function and quality of life.

When meeting patients for the first time, Dr. Baber reviews their charts thoroughly to learn their medical histories. Then, he talks with his patients, gets to know them and listens to their concerns. He offers support and outlines treatment options. As a specialist, Dr. Baber believes it’s important to educate patients about their conditions so they can work as a team to make the best decisions for their care.

During his free time, Dr. Baber enjoys running, biking, travel and spending time with his family.

I explore every possible option to help my patients feel better and live longer, healthier lives.
