About

Anna Schmidt, PA, is a UW Health physician assistant who specializes in otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat). She treats a wide range of acute (sudden) and chronic (long-term) ear, nose and throat (ENT) conditions. Anna also cares for patients with head and neck cancer. She has a special clinical interest in conditions that affect the ears.

Anna has a personal background with ENT challenges and brings that experience to the care team. She believes that having some of the same conditions as her patients allows her to better identify and empathize with them.

With a focus on shared decision-making, Anna spends a lot of time talking with her patients to understand their concerns and goals. She offers personalized treatment options and provides education to help her patients make informed decisions about their health care.

In addition to her clinical work, as an advanced practice nurse practitioner, Anna also supervises PA students during their clinical rotations.

Outside of work, Anna enjoys running 5k races, lifting weights, reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

I believe being an active listener is key to providing the most effective treatment, personalized to each individual.
