Dr. Amanda Parkes is an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative care, a member of the UW Health Breast Center and the associate program director for the University of Wisconsin Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship program. She also leads the Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Program at the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center.

She earned her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Madison, WI, completed her residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA and a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX.

Dr. Parkes research interests include novel treatments for sarcoma and breast cancer patients as well as a research program dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by adolescents and young adults with cancer. She is the co-leader of the Sarcoma and Adolescent and Young Adult Big Ten Cancer Research Consortium Clinical Trial Working Groups as well as co-leads the Sarcoma NCI Experimental Therapeutics Clinical Trials Network (ETCTN) Disease Focused Group.

She is highly invested in medical education at all levels and has been recognized with the following medical education awards and positions: UW Health Physician Excellence Awards: Rising Star Clinical Educator Award, American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Education Scholars Program, ASCO Oncology Summer Internship Advisory Board Member.
