About

Alissa Matzinger, PT, is a UW Health physical therapist and sports rehabilitation specialist. She has advanced training and certification in sports physical therapies, including strength and conditioning.

Alissa cares for athletes who have sports-related injuries to the shoulder, hip, knee, ankle and foot. She treats athletes of all ages and has special expertise in sports injury prevention and care for pediatric sports conditions.

Alissa evaluates pain and injuries that are common to an athlete’s chosen sport. Her interests include treating tennis-related sports injuries. She created a tennis specialty program to evaluate risk factors for pain and injuries associated with playing the sport.

When athletes need surgery or other procedures to treat bone, muscle, tissue and joint injuries, Alissa guides their recovery and healing process. She educates patients about ways to build strength and avoid future injuries so they can safely return to sports and other activities.

I have a passion for sports and helping people return to the activities and sports that they love.
